Brief Description

The sacred overland journey to Kailash Mansarovar begins from Kathmandu with holy darshan at the revered Pashupatinath Temple, seeking blessings of Lord Shiva before embarking on this once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage.

The route follows a gradual and well-paced path ideal for acclimatization: Kathmandu – Syabrubesi – Keyrong – Saga – Lake Mansarovar – Darchen – Deraphuk – Zuthulphuk – Darchen – Saga – Keyrong – Kathmandu.

Traveling comfortably by bus, the route gradually unfolds from the lush valleys of Nepal to the vast, mystical landscapes of the Tibetan plateau. The overland journey allows pilgrims to acclimatize naturally while witnessing dramatic transitions in terrain — from green hills and river valleys to high-altitude desert mountains.

Pilgrims experience the divine darshan of Lake Mansarovar, where ritual snan and meditation are performed on its sacred shores. The highlight of the yatra is the parikrama of Mount Kailash, a deeply transformative spiritual experience for devotees.

The overland route by bus is ideal for those seeking a traditional pilgrimage experience — allowing gradual altitude adjustment, group bonding, and a deeper connection with the sacred geography of Lord Shiva’s abode.

Overland journey offers better acclimatization than flight options but requires longer travel duration. Roads in Tibet are generally good, but remote terrain can be unpredictable.
